We have become the farmers wife in the Government’s approach to stopping drugs coming into America!
The story goes; A farmer observed a mouse eating his stored corn, ready to kill it, his wife stops him and uses a broom to chase the mouse away. The farmer tells his wife it won’t do any good to just chase them away, the wife argues it the kind thing to do. The farmer tell the wife it is now your job to keep the mice from eating the corn. Three months later, the farmer sees his wife with a broom in each hand, chasing about 20 mice around the silo. Two years later, the wife comes to the farmer and ask for his shotgun and a case of shells, saying there is no way I can keep 5,000 G D mice away from the corn.
We have spent 50 years and 3 trillion dollars trying to keep drugs from coming across our borders and we are still using a broom! The only way it will stop, is to make the punishment so severe, that no person in their right mind try it.
I am proposing a mandatory 50 year sentence for importing any illegal drugs into the Country. Plus, because drugs cause so many overdoses and deaths to our citizens, the use of deadly force, in the apprehension, if they don’t surrender to authorities immediately upon detection. It won’t be long before the drug importers run out of mice.
