Credit Card Safety is on everyone’s mind and yet nobody is doing anything about it including the credit card companies. The card companies can solve the problem with a new smart card system, including a photo on the card, but the new cards will cost $2.00 each and the readers around $65.00 each, lot of them out there.
I am willing to pay a one time $5.00 charge for one of these new cards, as I’m sure 90% of the other card holders would be willing to pay as well. So offer the new cards to those willing to pay for them and design the new readers to accept both type of cards. Charge the merchants 1 cent per transaction until the new machines are paid for, problem solved.
The whole new system could be operating by this time next year as long as the government does not get involved. They could even incorporate a finger print reader with an optional pin # bypass.
